RAPID EXPANSION FOR PUKKA-J

Following on from the recent appointment of John Dickens as Project Manager, Pukka-j has now recruited Dr. Derek (Dez) Wright as Clinical and Scientific Specialist with the company.

Dez comes with a research background, gaining a Master of Physics Degree from Lancaster University, in both computational and experimental physics. As part of his degree course, Dez spent a year in the USA, after which he returned to Lancaster University to complete a Physics PhD in Optoelectronics.

In 2004, he moved into Nuclear Medicine, and completed a Medical Physics MSc whilst working at Darlington Memorial Hospital. As a user of Pukka-j’s Dicom Explorer software at Darlington, Dez became familiar with Pukka-j’s product portfolio, and he subsequently joined the company in June this year, based in the North-east.

In March 2006, at the BNMS conference, he was awarded the Young Investigators prize for scatter correction modelling. Dez likes to relax watching Horror/Sci-Fi/Fantasy novels and movies. He also enjoys weight training, athletics and DIY.
