PUKKA-J TO LAUNCH INNOVATIVE NEW TECHNOLOGY AT UKRC
Pukka-j will showcase its latest Imaging Information Systems (IIS) at UKRC this year, a range of products designed to automate workflow for the healthcare sector. IIS consists of a portfolio of products that can be deployed as either complete stand-alone solutions, or as an existing PACS/RIS accessory, seamlessly integrated with other vendors' products.
The IIS manages GP referrals, document scanning, exam orders, schedules appointments, generates modality worklists, image reports, review and archiving of radiology, cardiology, functional imaging and radiotherapy studies. The system supports HL7 brokering, intelligent routing and converts RIS reports into structured reports, enabling them to be stored with the associated image studies that are archived, queried and retrieved as a single patient case, or can be easily transferred to referring hospitals and GPs. In addition, the graphical, easy-to-use interface ensures smooth navigation when working with the application.
It also handles with ease the difficulties of importing data from third party/mixed manufacturers' images and reports into any PACS. The import facility is especially useful for tertiary hospitals that host multi-disciplinary team meetings. The IIS applies an automated data merge to resolve patient reconciliation, eliminates time consuming manual operation and optimises the PACS department's workflow.
Pukka-j is a customer focussed, UK based company providing development and deployment of IT products and services to the healthcare sector. The company specialises in configuring its systems to the way that the NHS and independent providers need them to work. The services can also be web-integrated where needed.
Kevin Wilson, Technical Director, Pukka-j comments:
our software is spun out of necessity - out of requests from customers for a product that generally tends to be missed or still in the development stage of other PACS/RIS manufacturers. We specialise in keeping up-to-date with the latest technologies, not only to cope with the lack of interoperability between systems, but to provide the user with a range of products that resolve the more complex issues faced by digital healthcare environments.
