Remote access to DICOM images via the Internet has improved patient care and saves valuable time for clinicians. Dicom Explorer is scalable to fit the application and has a built in tool for generating and sending reports and images by secure e-mail. This tool contains a built in set of user selectable settings for security, image compression and mail type. Authorised clients can choose to connect to the Dicom Explorer Application Service Provider (ASP) to send or retrieve images. Digital images are transmitted over SSL or secure VPN pipelines. An SMTP or ESMTP e-mail server is required and the permission and co-operation of your local IT department may also be required to use this service.
