Image Reporting

The IIS supports all aspects of the reporting workflow from the generation of reporting worklists through to report templates. The IIS provides flexibility to organisations to enable choice of preferred voice recognition and dictation packages they wish to be fully integrated to the IIS.  The report function supports single and multi-monitor displays. The reporting mode displays a study, a single or selection of patient’s images alongside the report template. The IIS report screen features pre-population of know fields such as patient and request information ensuring the correct report is matched to the relevant images.

Preliminary and final reports

The IIS features options to save a report either as a preliminary report or a final report. A preliminary report can be returned to and edited later. If the report is saved as a final report, then it can no longer be edited.

Report actions

Following report creation, the IIS provides a selection of report actions to be taken following the report. A typical action is to log the report was faxed to the referrer. The action is recorded and if printed is shown on the report.

Report Macros

It is possible to set up user-specific report macros in the IIS. There is a drop down list which allows reporters to quickly enter standard phrases or pre-formatted text. This function requires Pukka-j to configure the details specifically to an organisations specification.

DICOM Structured Reports

All reports created in IIS are rendered as DICOM Structured Reports (SR) which enables reports to be accurately matched to the associated image in the database, stored alongside the relevant images and packaged as a single case to enable forwarding of data. A DICOM SR is viewable as a DICOM object, therefore viewing the images and reports can be performed within an imaging application. . If a third party HL7 feed of an ORU message is imported to the IIS, the DICOM SR retains the original HL7 ORU message to enable quick export back to a HL7 for ad-hoc workflow requests.

Report distribution

The IIS features multiple methods for distributing reports out to referrers or other imaging systems. Referrer reports can be faxed, emailed, printed or sent electronically to another DICOM or HL7 enabled system. There is an option for the IIS to be enhanced to automatically convert reports to a PDF format, should this method be required.

Tele-reporting

The IIS provides an elegant method for distributing images and associated scanned documentation as one complete pack to remote third party tele-reporting groups. The reporting pack can be received and viewed by any DICOM complaint system. The IIS is a web-based product that can be easily deployed for use via VPN for a reporting group to enter reports direct into an image provider IIS.

Report Sharing Facility to Referrers

The IIS can be enhanced and configured as a central report sharing environment residing in a data centre which allows validated GP’s access to their reports via the IIS viewer. Reports for GP’s can be held for X hours or days. There is an option to enhance IIS Structured Report (SR) to allow a right click to export reports as .txt format files in a standard windows browser. For future integration to third party systems there is an option for the SR to be exported as a HL7 message feed, ready for HL7 systems to receive the information.

Choose & Book

The IIS is easily integrated to an existing Choose and Book compliant system via bi-directional HL7 messaging.
